A Thrilling Norse Adventure
Chester and Freya have accidentally gone back in time. Now stuck in the Viking Age, and separated by the sea, they must brave raids, betrayal and enslavement to find their way back to each other, and find their way back home.
Freya learns a lot on her school trip to the history museum, but probably the most important lesson is this: if you happen to stumble upon some magical ancient Norse runes, don't sing them out loud. Oh, and if you happen to go travel a thousand years back in time in a Viking longboat, hang on tight! Now, she must use every bit of her famous wit and courage to escape the capture of a viking band.
Meanwhile, Chester must find a boldness he never knew he possessed to raise his own viking crew, sail through dangerous waters and get back his friend.
A Real Viking World
Almost everything in Enthralled: A Viking Saga is based in reality.
Meticulously researched and rooted in Chris's own background in Ancient Norse history, it takes place in a world that was real a thousand years ago. Even the magic is based on contemporary Ancient Norse beliefs about Seiðr, and everything Chester and Freya encounter on their journeys is as true to life as possible. You'll find no horned helmets here!
All this makes it an ideal book for teachers who are teaching about the Vikings, and to aid any teacher who wants to do this, Chris has produced a package of learning resources based on the book. They are completely free, and many can be used without the text (though, of course, we hope you do buy it!). Mostly based around English and History, there are also cross-curricular opportunities within and they draw upon Chris's 10 years of teaching experience to provide fun and informative lessons.
